Dental Nurse, Chapter One Dental Clinic

Job Type: Full-time (38 hours per week)

Pay: £14.50-16 per hour depending on experience 

Additional pay:

GDC fees covered

Benefits:

Schedule:

Monday to Thursday 8.15am-5.15pm

Friday 8.15am - 3.15pm

Location: Bruntsfield, Edinburgh


We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate and fully qualified Dental Nurse. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care, assisting the dental team, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. This position requires strong communication skills, excellent organisational abilities, and proficiency in IT systems relevant to dental practice. We are keen to hire someone who is kind and works well in a team with experience across many areas of private dental treatment including implants, and orthodontics.

Main Duties

  • Assist dentists during various dental procedures, ensuring that all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and ready for use.

  • Provide high-quality patient care by reassuring patients, explaining procedures, and addressing any concerns they may have. Maintain accurate patient records and update information using dental practice management software.

  • Ensure that all dental equipment is properly sterilised and maintained according to health and safety regulations. Manage appointment schedules efficiently to optimise patient flow and minimise waiting times.

  • Support the administrative team with clerical tasks as needed, including filing, answering phone calls, and managing correspondence.

  • Stay informed about new dental technologies and procedures to enhance patient care and improve practice efficiency.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualified Dental Nurse with relevant certifications or equivalent experience in a dental setting.

  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with patients and colleagues.

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in IT systems used within dental practices for record keeping and scheduling.

  • A compassionate approach to patient care, demonstrating empathy and professionalism at all times.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated when required.

  • Experience of private practice and digital dentistry essential.
